The Kingdom of Bahrain celebrates with all countries of the world the International Children's Day, which falls on November 20 of each year. This year's celebration comes under the slogan "A better future for every child" with the aim of strengthening international cooperation and raising awareness of children's rights and protection, and improving their well-being, in accordance with what was approved by the United Nations General Assembly on the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. This day is an opportunity to highlight the level of interest shown by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of childhood, as well as to strengthen international interdependence among children all over the world and raise awareness among them, and to emphasize the importance of continuing efforts aimed at preserving children's rights and supporting families To advance its educational role and raise children on strong foundations, covered by care and care, so that they become valuable personalities. On this occasion, His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is among the developed countries in its strategic vision for welfare and developmental services in the field of childhood, in implementation of what is stated in the Child Law, and the developments Bahrain is witnessing in the integrated legislative and judicial systems in light of the comprehensive development march led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Kingdom of Bahrain, and the follow-up of the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to strengthen and Continuing to meet the needs of the child in a safe and secure environment, in order to raise a generation capable of advancing the future of Bahrain with full efficiency and competence. Minister Al-Asfoor stressed that the issuance of the Restorative Justice Law for Children and their protection from abuse represents a pioneering step in the system of justice and protection of children's rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, by giving the child's best interests priority in all provisions, decisions and procedures related to him, and the modern guarantees it provides to protect and prevent him from abuse, exploitation or neglect, and provide them with health, education, and social care, in accordance with international human rights standards, and a commitment to achieving the goals of sustainable development issued by the United Nations. The efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of preserving children's rights are based on the many ambitious and pioneering achievements that have been achieved, in order to lay the foundations of a state of justice and law, and to strengthen the foundations of social peace, which are guaranteed by the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the National Action Charter in addition to modern and developed legislation, and international commitments in the fields of human rights, in addition to their reliance on the approved conventions and laws on children's rights, as a result of which national policies, programs and initiatives were formulated that translate the articles and texts of these agreements into reality for the protection and care of childhood. In order to activate the strategic priorities of the government's programme, and to embody the goals of sustainable development aimed at advancing developmental and social programs at various levels and levels, the Social Welfare Complex project was established with the aim of providing the best social, psychological and health care services for children and the various groups of society, through specialized centers for social protection and temporary shelters in a way that contributes to improving the level of social service provided and rehabilitating the target groups for integration into society, which reflects positively on the development of Bahraini society and the achievement of sustainability and social welfare. Minister Al-Asfoor said that childhood projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain witnessed remarkable development and progress, which contributed to raising the name of Bahrain in international and global forums high. Among the most prominent initiatives adopted by the Kingdom of Bahrain at the international and regional levels is the formation of the National Committee for Childhood and the launch of the strategy for childhood and its implementation plan, concerned with coordination between all governmental and private sectors and civil society institutions related to childhood through several mechanisms, as that strategy is based on four main axes represented by the right to health and survival, the right to education, development and capacity building, and The right to protection and the right to participation. These four axes included (19) goals, under which (114) work mechanisms, programs and initiatives fall. The Ministry of Social Development continues to make efforts and build on the pioneering national achievements that are consistent with the social and cultural constants in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as international treaties in the field of children's rights, within the framework of a comprehensive community partnership strategy, with the aim of achieving more support and development in the system of sustainable development paths.
