The Minister of Social Development chairs the meeting of the National Committee for Childhood

His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfour, Minister of Social Development, chaired, at the Ministry’s headquarters, the meeting of the National Committee for Childhood, in the presence of members of the committee from relevant governmental and private bodies, where joint national efforts to implement the action plan of the National Strategy for Childhood were discussed. At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Social Development praised the committee’s efforts to improve the reality of childhood by working to develop it at its various age levels educationally, psychologically and culturally, as well as striving to protect its rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in accordance with the national objectives of the strategy, stressing in this regard the importance of joint action in order to protect childhood rights. It was also noted that the Future Youth Association won for the second year in a row the Child-Friendly Institutions Award in the Arab Region for the year 2023, which was approved by the jury of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, in appreciation of its role in the best initiatives to protect children from climate impacts. The meeting also discussed the latest developments related to the law on restorative justice for children and protecting them from abuse, which aims to enhance the protection of children’s rights.

He pointed out that the Youth Leadership Association is considered one of the most prominent youth associations that constantly seeks to develop the performance of its volunteer and humanitarian work, in addition to launching specific initiatives aimed at establishing the culture of volunteer work among the youth segment, so that it has been able, throughout its journey, to write many success stories, for its efforts and performance.
