The Kingdom of Bahrain celebrates with all countries of the world on the fifth of September of each year the International Day of Charitable Work, according to what was approved by the United Nations General Assembly since 2012, when this day was approved with the aim of educating and motivating individuals and civil society organizations, the importance of charitable work to strengthen social bonds, and contribute to creating societies that have the ability to support and support national services in all economic, social and cultural fields, in addition to spreading the humanitarian message in times of crisis through volunteer projects and charitable programs. On this occasion, the Ministry of Social Development confirmed that the celebration of the International Day of Charitable Work comes in the light of strengthening the continuous humanitarian efforts made by many entities and individuals, which contributes to raising societal awareness of the importance of charitable work in achieving sustainable development and creating positive change in society, especially since the values of giving and giving are among the qualities rooted in Bahraini society, especially social, charitable and human solidarity, which enjoys the care and attention of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the great King of Kingdom of Bahrain. His patronage, and continuous follow-up by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to achieve the goals of sustainable development, through distinguished quality projects and initiatives that have contributed to strengthening the Kingdom of Bahrain's position regionally and internationally in this field. The ministry said: Non-governmental institutions, civil society organizations and individuals play a role of great importance in implementing voluntary and charitable projects, and supporting development and social services in various fields, according to action plans aimed at building a sound and sustainable future for all. The Ministry affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain provided the world with a national humanitarian model and had a precedent in the field of charitable work, represented in the keenness to provide charitable volunteer work opportunities in the Bahraini society, through an institutional and legal work system, to facilitate and facilitate the work of civil society organizations supervised by the Ministry, which currently number (665) civil organizations, with the aim of strengthening the actual social cohesion between the various segments of society, in addition to contributing to the creation of societies capable of facing humanitarian challenges in a comprehensive and flexible way. In light of global changes and transformations, and in order to develop charitable, voluntary and humanitarian work, the Ministry of Social Development has since 2009 launched an electronic system for civil organizations, as the Kingdom of Bahrain is one of the developed countries in the field of converting all the transactions of these organizations into an electronic format, in order to facilitate their work procedures and update their data at the Ministry. The Ministry of Social Development confirmed that opportunities for development and promotion of charitable work in partnership with all relevant parties are a lofty goal and will continue to achieve sustainable development in Bahraini society.
