The Ministers of "Social Development" and "Health" pay an inspection visit to the Comprehensive Disability Complex to review plans for the development of service facilities and infrastructure

His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, and Her Excellency Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan Jawad, Minister of Health, paid an inspection visit to the Comprehensive Disability Complex located in the A'ali area, with the aim of reviewing plans to develop service facilities and infrastructure in the complex, which would increase the efficiency of services and improve their quality in the service of citizens. At the beginning of the visit, the two ministers referred to the efficiency of the workers in the front lines of the medical cadres and support agencies who worked in the Al-Shamel field center as part of the national efforts to address the Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic, and maintained the quality of the medical services that were provided diligently and diligently, as they performed their work to the fullest extent, and provided the necessary support to medical teams in all work sites in the governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the various stages of dealing with the pandemic. The two ministers were briefed on the buildings and facilities of the complex, which includes 9 buildings, built according to modern standards to provide the highest level of health, treatment and rehabilitation services within the Kingdom's health system. During the visit, His Excellency the Minister of Social Development confirmed that the establishment of the Comprehensive Disability Complex, which deals with people with determination, reflects the great interest they receive from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Kingdom of Bahrain , and the close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, indicating the Ministry's determination to continue to prepare the health and social aspects and the necessary capabilities to provide the best ways to meet the needs of this important group and integrate them more into society, thus providing more opportunities for them. To participate in the national development efforts, adding that this complex is one of the largest development and service projects that were established in partnership and cooperation between the Ministry of Works, the Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Health, as it was built on an area of approximately three hectares. For her part, the Minister of Health affirmed that the Ministry is continuing to develop health services in the Kingdom of Bahrain in an integrated manner and to ensure their sustainability and improve their quality within the framework of the continuous pursuit towards achieving comprehensive health for all, referring to the strategic plans set that have achieved a series of qualitative achievements in the field of health care, noting the keenness to continue providing the best services with quality, efficiency and high competitiveness to keep pace with the latest medical developments and scientific studies and research in the treatment and rehabilitation fields for the benefit of all patients, explaining the permanent commitment to enhancing the pace of work and joint coordination between the concerned authorities in the complex in order to provide health services. Integration and efforts to develop the level of quality of services provided by the government to all. During the visit, the complex’s work system was reviewed, which is in line with the objectives for which it was established in order to improve the treatment and rehabilitation process in an integrated manner, as the complex is one of the largest specialized complexes and centers for people of determination in the Middle East, and specializes in treatment, care, education and rehabilitation of different groups such as Down syndrome, deafness and dumbness, autism, brain damage and mental illness, in addition to the presence of a number of other departments in it such as physiotherapy, psychological therapy, work therapy, a center for psychological support, and a center for measurement, evaluation and diagnosis.
