44th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs concludes

Manama, Dec. 25 (BNA): The 44th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, held in Bahrain from December 22-25, concluded with recommendations to support entrepreneurship and social inclusion. The event, organised by Bahrain's Ministry of Social Development in cooperation with the Arab League, was attended by Arab ministers, officials, and representatives of international organisations. Minister Osama Al Alawi thanked the participants and highlighted Bahrain's commitment to enhancing social development in line with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. He emphasised the importance of technological advancements in social services and the need for integrated efforts to improve social protection, particularly for vulnerable groups. The session also reviewed the outcomes of a high-level event on family support and entrepreneurship, resulting in recommendations to promote entrepreneurship and effective social inclusion. Minister Al Alawi noted Bahrain's commitment to implementing the agreed decisions in collaboration with member states. Dr. Maya Morsy, Egypt's Minister of Social Solidarity, highlighted Egypt’s ongoing support for social development, especially in the areas of disability and elderly care. Ahmad bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi, the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, commended Bahrain's efforts and emphasised Saudi Arabia's commitment to social development initiatives. The session also focused on the upcoming 2025 Global Disability Summit, with participants highlighting the importance of enhancing partnerships to advance the rights of people with disabilities and to ensure the implementation of resolutions that will improve the lives of Arab citizens.
