The Minister of Social Development meets with the United Nations Child Fund Officer (UNICEF) of the GCC region.

His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfour, Minister of Social Development, received Mr. Al-Tayeb Adam, the United Nations Child Fund Officer (UNICEF) of the GCC region., to discuss aspects of enhancing joint cooperation in the field of childhood protection and care. During the meeting, the Minister of Social Development stressed the importance of developing existing relations with UNICEF in order to strengthen joint cooperation mechanisms and advance the progress achieved in the areas of childhood in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In this context, he reviewed the Ministry’s efforts within the framework of the Kingdom’s keenness to support children at various levels. In order to provide a safe and appropriate environment for the development of their abilities and to strengthen a society that ensures the effective participation of children based on equality and respect. For his part, Mr. Al-Tayeb Adam, the United Nations Child Fund Officer (UNICEF) of the GCC region, praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in caring for and protecting children and providing various opportunities for advancement and participation, noting the organization’s keenness to develop means of cooperation to enhance development policies in this field, and to inform member states. The organization praised the pioneering Bahraini experience in promoting childhood education, noting that the organization is always ready to provide all the efforts and expertise necessary to achieve the desired goals.
