The Minister of Social Development inaugurates the Second National Chemical Forum “Bahrain with Chemical Arms”

His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, opened the second National Chemistry Forum under the slogan (Bahrain with Chemical Arms), which was organized by the Bahrain Chemists’ Society, with the participation of a number of chemistry specialists from various national companies and institutions, at the Diplomat Hotel. In his speech at the beginning of the forum, the Minister of Social Development praised the efforts of the Bahrain Chemists Society and its community initiatives that reflect awareness of the concepts of community partnership and the responsibility assigned to civil society institutions in the process of comprehensive and sustainable development, noting that the organization of this forum reflects the society’s continued interest in implementing programs Specialized scientific courses contribute positively to developing the skills of those working professionally in the field of chemistry in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as raising awareness at the national level of the importance of chemistry in improving people’s lives and developing society. Al-Asfour affirmed the Ministry’s support for the awareness and quality projects presented by civil society organizations, due to their effective and influential importance in the comprehensive development process, and their national efforts in support of government institutions, noting that the Ministry has taken many encouraging measures, out of its belief that these institutions are an effective partner for the advancement and progress of the nation. For his part, Dr. Abdul Wahed Al-Nakal, President of the Bahraini Chemists’ Society and Chairman of the Forum, indicated that organizing this National Chemical Forum is to highlight the role of the Bahraini chemist in various fields of chemistry through his work in the public and private sectors, and his contributions to serving the Bahraini society and economy. Al-Nakal also pointed out that the forum comes as one of the opportunities available to provide a platform for scientific exchange, facilitate communication between researchers, and build strong communications networks, expressing the association’s appreciation to the government agencies and national companies participating in the forum, and praising their role in the field of social responsibility. The forum was accompanied by a distinguished scientific exhibition, which included real samples that were presented to the public along with their chemical analyzes for the first time in the Kingdom of Bahrain. At the conclusion of the forum, the participants recommended the importance of creating a national center to coordinate scientific research, and benefiting from the techniques and devices used in this research in local universities and laboratories.
