His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development and Chairman of the National Committee for Childhood, confirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is considered one of the leading countries in promoting children’s rights through implementing initiatives and drafting supporting legislation, pointing out that the National Childhood Strategy is considered one of the most important initiatives taken by countries that The affairs of children are given great attention, in order to enhance their status, preserve their health, educational and social rights, and to achieve the best care for children. This came in His Excellency’s speech during his attendance at the inauguration ceremony of the National Strategy for Children 2023-2027, which was approved by the Council of Ministers today, with the participation of committee members, and a number of Their Excellencies ministers, senior officials and invitees, at the City Center Mall in Manama, where he indicated that the launch of the strategy reflects the government’s commitment. Under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, to promote child care and achieve comprehensive development for this important group of society, and to enable them to grow and develop properly in accordance with their basic rights. He continued that the National Strategy for Childhood aims to provide the legislative framework and appropriate environment of policies, legislation, programs and services that guarantee the survival and development of children, to achieve comprehensive and balanced development, and to provide the best interest of children, in addition to raising family and community awareness of children’s issues, and of the importance of childhood, its characteristics and requirements, through 4 pillars represent the basic rights of the child, and 8 pillars contribute to their implementation for the development, protection and well-being of the child. He also explained that the Ministry of Social Development is keen on the need to update the strategy to provide a comprehensive vision and framework that seeks to develop children in light of values and guiding principles, and to represent a declaration and a national commitment to the support and support provided by the government to civil society institutions and the private sector, so that children can obtain all their rights, and that To create an active generation with a sense of responsibility and good citizenship. In this regard, he pointed out the importance of keeping the child sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain abreast of legislative and technological developments and international agreements and treaties. Therefore, the Ministry of Social Development worked to formulate a modern strategy in coordination with all parties related to children, and to take into account the translation of the common vision and basic principles contained in the strategy into a concrete and workable framework. The investigation aims to advance the childhood sector. The inauguration ceremony included an exhibition accompanied by the slogan of World Children’s Day, “Every child has every right.” It included a number of entertainment events and activities targeting children of all ages, through which a variety of interesting games and entertainment performances were presented, including theatrical performances and creative workshops. The exhibition is a unique opportunity for children to enjoy recreational activities that enhance their rights in interactive and exciting ways, which contributes to enhancing their comprehensive development. The exhibition activities will continue over the 20th and 21st of this month, and will be available to visitors from 10 am to 7 pm.
