His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, confirmed that the International Day of Charity, which falls on the 5th of September, is an appropriate opportunity to highlight the pioneering Bahraini experience at the international and regional levels, which was unique in its development and social policy, and which was adopted and supported by civil society institutions. This came in a statement by His Excellency the Minister of Social Development, on the occasion of the International Day of Charitable Work, in accordance with what was approved by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, pointing out that it embodies the growing role that various social forces can contribute to the development of their societies and their requirements with the aim of finding their positions in On the path of development, the Ministry has taken many development measures in the field of supporting humanitarian and charitable efforts by civil society organizations, aiming to double their effectiveness by increasing coordination among them, providing facilities to implement their programs, and supporting and developing the skills of their members to carry out their assigned role in social service and charitable development work. . In this context, Minister Al-Asfour praised the level of progress and development reached by civil society organizations in the Kingdom of Bahrain in their development programs, and their constant pursuit of excellence in serving Bahraini society, and promoting the values of cooperation and advancing humanitarian and charitable work, stressing the Ministry’s continued efforts to develop these areas of work. Charity, by updating national legislation and organizing the work of organizations to carry out their social and humanitarian duty to the fullest extent. He said that the Kingdom of Bahrain has always been known for its support for noble charitable and humanitarian work, which is clearly evident through the support of the Ministry of Social Development and its keenness to organize this work, out of its belief that these civil institutions constitute an economic and social force in partnership with the public and private sectors, and that this force has an effective role in Addressing social problems in general is an essential part of civil society institutions whose role is increasing as a result of the acceleration of social and economic transformations in the world.
