Ms. Zainab Salman Al-Awainati, Assistant Undersecretary for Welfare and Social Rehabilitation at the Ministry of Social Development, confirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, in its various governmental, private and civil sectors, is keen to advance the category of people with disabilities and raise the level of services provided to them, noting the qualitative achievements achieved by the category of people with determination at various levels. This came during Al-Awainati’s visit to the Micro Center for Arts Training, in order to review the most prominent training programs and workshops that the center offers to people with disabilities at various ages. During the visit, Al-Awainati listened to a brief explanation from Dr. Zainab Siwar, Head of the Micro Center for Arts Training, regarding the center’s objectives aimed at enhancing the artistic and creative skills of people with disabilities, through the plastic arts programs and activities provided by the center, and what it contributes to strengthening their motor skills and developing their creativity. In addition to strengthening their self-confidence and encouraging them to express themselves, especially since it is under the supervision of academically, scientifically and artistically qualified trainers. The Assistant Undersecretary for Welfare and Social Rehabilitation praised the efforts of the Micro Center for Arts Training, to advance the capabilities and skills of this important segment of society, by providing distinctive artistic programs to establish a culture of creativity and empower them in various fields, in a way that meets their needs and aspirations, as the center is considered an ideal station for people with disabilities to share their projects. Technical, stressing the Ministry’s keenness to support all development and social efforts by strengthening the principles of community partnership with all sectors so that they have effective opportunities that contribute to building a sustainable society.
