The Minister of Social Development sponsors the inauguration of the "ICAN" Center for Special Education

nder the auspices of His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfour, Minister of Social Development, the ICANN Center for Special Education was inaugurated, in the presence of the Assistant Undersecretary for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation at the Ministry, Ms. Zainab Al-Awainati, the Head of the Center, Ms. Nora Maatouk, and a number of relevant national institutions and social figures. On this occasion, Minister Al-Asfoor praised the efforts of the ICANN Center for Special Education, stressing that supporting and caring for people with disabilities is a national and societal responsibility, and that Bahrain has made tangible achievements in the field of partnership and development of rehabilitation services in cooperation with many governmental, private and civil agencies that believe in the importance of their social responsibilities. Pointing out that the Ministry is looking forward to more opportunities to enhance community partnership with all sectors in the developmental and social fields, which are in the interest of society. In this regard, he pointed out the importance of projects and initiatives that contribute to achieving the aspirations of people with disabilities and their families through developed programs with a high level of leadership, stressing that the Ministry of Social Development is working to harness efforts to improve the services provided to this important group of society, to ensure their integration and provide protection comprehensive care for them. For her part, the head of the ICANN Center for Special Education, Ms. Nora Maatouk, expressed her thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Social Development for its support for the efforts of institutions of people with disabilities in general and the center in particular, which aim to provide advanced services in the field of education and rehabilitation of people with disabilities, noting that the center provides Advanced curricula and programs to ensure maximum independence for its members, and to exercise all their rights in a natural way, in addition to spreading a culture of best practices in dealing with people with disabilities.
