The Minister of Social Development chairs the second meeting of the National Committee for Childhood

His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, chaired the second meeting of the National Committee for Childhood, in the presence of a number of committee members from representatives of government and private agencies. During the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the attendees, stressing the great role of the Childhood Committee in implementing its competencies aimed at improving the reality of childhood by working on developing childhood in all stages of life educationally, culturally and psychologically, and striving to provide legislative protection for this group in various fields, by developing a national strategy that helps The concerned authorities to develop and promote their projects and programs that serve and guarantee the rights of this group. In this context, Minister Al-Asfoor praised the outstanding efforts made by the members of the committee in consolidating the principles of cooperation and coordination between various government agencies and civil institutions to achieve integration in their field of competence, which contributes towards achieving more gains and achievements for this sector. The financial regulations of the committee were also reviewed to determine financial policies and all financial transaction procedures, as well as the internal system of the committee’s work to be consistent with its terms of reference, and the committee’s preparations for celebrating International Children’s Day during next November were discussed, in addition to reviewing the latest developments related to the implementation plan of the national strategy for childhood to enhance the environment. A safe place for all children of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and achieving everything they aspire to so that they can live in a safe life. The meeting discussed a number of issues related to strengthening efforts that contribute to improving the reality of childhood, and launching more projects and initiatives in the field of child services, care and protection, with the aim of achieving a decent and sustainable life.
