The Minister of Social Development reviews the project of the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector in Riyadh

Within the framework of the official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development and the accompanying delegation, reviewed the project of the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector, in the presence of the Deputy Minister for the Social Development Sector, His Excellency Mr. Sultan Al-Jurais, and the CEO of the Center, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Al-Suwailem, and a number of officials. The Saudi side reviewed the most prominent goals of the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector, and the decision to establish it so that it can play its role by supporting community development and organizing the work of civil organizations in development fields, in addition to its role in integrating government efforts by providing licensing services for these organizations, and financial, administrative and technical supervision. On the sector, and to enhance coordination and support between the various concerned authorities without prejudice to the competencies of other parties, as the center works to prepare strategies, plans, programs and performance indicators, in addition to taking the necessary measures to organize the non-profit sector in terms of regulations and standards. The delegation was also briefed on the sector's growth indicators over the past years, and the advanced results it has achieved in the fields of donation and volunteering, and the most important specializations of the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector, including the governance of all organizations for donations, spreading the culture of volunteering and awareness of the importance of this sector, as well as activating impactful investment. social services, providing advisory and training services, and supervising the financial support provided to civil organizations. During the meeting, the Saudi side referred to the most prominent achievements of the center by increasing the number of organizations and specific and specialized training for the workforce, launching more governance and fundraising platforms, as well as activating a council for associations and civil institutions and their branches, as the center aspires to achieve many development goals, and to ensure its participation in areas of improvement quality of life for the community. In this regard, the experience of classifying non-profit organizations was reviewed based on the national classification of economic activities, and the most prominent efforts of the center to enable and support the non-profit sector through electronic linking between various government agencies to facilitate the procedures and work of organizations, as well as efforts to support innovation through the program to accelerate innovation of associations and the network National Innovation Spaces.
