Minister of Social Development: The implementation plan for the national strategy for people with disabilities will be launched next week

His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, presided over the third meeting of the Supreme Committee for the Care of Persons with Disabilities, in the presence of the Committee's Vice-Chairman, Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, and a number of members, to discuss the final preparations for the inauguration ceremony of the implementation plan for the National Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities for the years (2023-2027), which is expected to be organized during the next week. At the outset of the meeting, His Excellency the Minister of Social Development welcomed the members of the committee, expressing his wishes to the members of all success in following up and implementing the implementation plan for the strategy for persons with disabilities, praising in this regard the efforts made to serve this important group, in a way that contributes to facilitating their lives and allowing them to integrate more into society and participate in construction and development, which reflects the great concern that the government attaches to them. During the meeting, the topics on the agenda were discussed, and the most prominent proposals and observations aimed at promoting the rights and gains of people with disabilities, in addition to discussing the final draft of the internal and financial regulations of the committee in preparation for its adoption. The Higher Committee for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities includes in its membership representatives of government, private and civil agencies, and includes the Ministries of Social Development, Labor, Health, Education and the Civil Service, in addition to the Bahraini Society for Parents and Friends of the Disabled, the Paralympic Committee and the Bahraini Center for International Mobility.
