The Minister of Social Development meets the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations Office to Bahrain

His Excellency the Minister of Social Development, Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, received the Resident Coordinator of the Executive Activities of the United Nations Office to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Khalid Abdul Salam Al-Maqoud. During the meeting, ways to enhance joint cooperation between the Ministry of Social Development and the United Nations Development Program were discussed, and the technical support provided by the organization in the development and social fields, within the framework of implementing the sustainable development goals and their indicators, praising their efforts, stressing the importance of enhancing the level of cooperation between the two sides, and benefiting from experiences to implement strategies compatible with national projects related to the ministry. The most prominent developmental and social programs and projects offered by the Ministry to various segments and groups of Bahraini society were also reviewed, in partnership and coordination with all official, private and civil sectors, within the framework of the protection and social care system that the Kingdom of Bahrain guaranteed to its citizens. For his part, the Resident Coordinator expressed his appreciation for the Ministry's development initiatives and projects, stressing keenness to raise the level of cooperation between the two sides, in a way that contributes to achieving the dimensions of sustainable development.
