Minister Al-Asfoor looks at the sensory garden at Alia Rehabilitation Center

His Excellency the Minister of Social Development, Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, stressed the importance of advancing the humanitarian and voluntary mission undertaken by civil society organizations in general, and those related to the category of people with disabilities in particular, to enhance the development and social process in accordance with the principles of cooperation and giving, especially as it is supportive of government efforts aimed at improving the level of services provided to children with disabilities. During his visit to the Alia Rehabilitation Center, Minister Al-Asfoor praised the efforts of the Bahrain Society for Children with Behavioral and Communication Difficulties, headed by Dr. Shaikha Rania bint Ali Al Khalifa, pointing out that the Society is one of the leading national institutions concerned with childhood and children with difficulties, and implements qualitative projects and programs in order to integrate community partnership between the various official, private and civil bodies, praising in this context the facilities of the Alia Early Intervention Center to care for young people who suffer from behavioral and communication difficulties. During the visit, a sensory garden was also viewed, which was designed to strengthen the senses of people with disabilities, and meet their psychological and social needs, pointing out that qualitative initiatives are considered an added value to the common government goals by benefiting from the diverse capabilities and skills of the partners in the sustainable development process.
