The Kingdom of Bahrain chairs the meetings of the Arab Childhood and Family Committees in the League of Arab States

The Kingdom of Bahrain presided over the meetings of the 26th session of the Arab Childhood Committee, and the 12th session of the Arab Family Committee, represented by the Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development at the Ministry of Social Development, Mr. Khalid Abdul Rahman Ishaq Al-Kooheji, which was organized by the Department of Women, Family and Children in the Social Affairs Sector of the League of Arab States, via visual communication technology. During his speech at the Arab Family Committee, the Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development affirmed that the legislative system in the Kingdom of Bahrain contributed to strengthening family ties, within a modern legal framework, as well as guaranteeing the rights of all family members, based on national constants, Islamic values, and human principles, in light of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Kingdom of Bahrain, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, pointing out that the establishment of the Supreme Council For women headed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, may God protect her, 21 years ago was a qualitative leap that was achieved in favor of Bahraini women, during which women were promoted and empowered in general, through the distinguished contributions and initiatives launched by the Council and its tireless endeavors to formulate new legislation, or amend existing legislation, in addition to discussing all procedures and services that would support the role of the family, maintain its cohesion and strengthen its close ties, which achieved Arab praises And international in relation to Bahrain's efforts to empower women and preserve their rights, and its transition to the stage of progress. Al-Kooheji said that Bahrain attaches great importance to the family, as it is the first building block in the proper social upbringing of the child, referring in this context to the many initiatives and programs that Bahrain has presented in various family fields. In terms of family protection, the Kingdom of Bahrain has presented many initiatives and programs in various fields related to the family, including developmental and preventive programs, with the aim of preventing problems that family members may face. These programs were characterized by diversity, quality, creativity, and the use of modern counseling methods. The secret and correct method that produces an individual who is good for society. Al-Kooheji referred to the Kingdom’s efforts in developing the family to initiatives to transfer families who fall under the umbrella of social assistance to the production department, through the step program for home projects, which is one of the main projects in the ministry’s and successful programs, due to the many advantages it offers, represented in providing legal coverage in coordination with the relevant authorities, and providing those registered in the program with a special identification card, and a registration certificate for working from home, as well as providing advanced professional training and training for beginners for all registered activities that the market requires for free, as well as providing alternatives for young people and entrepreneurs. And the productive families who promote their products through social media, by opening the way and options for them to legalize their business, which expressed the concern that the government attaches to protecting them and ensuring the development and continuity of their business. In his speech before the Arab Childhood Committee, Al-Kooheji explained that Bahrain is constantly striving to improve the conditions of childhood at various legal, social, educational and cultural levels, pointing out in this regard the achievements made, in an atmosphere of concerted efforts by all official and unofficial bodies. He also reviewed the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of safeguarding children's rights, which are based on the National Action Charter, the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and international obligations in the fields of human rights, in addition to adopting a national plan and strategy for childhood, indicating in this regard that Bahrain is one of the pioneering countries in codifying children's rights through the issuance of the Correctional Justice Law, in addition to the establishment of the Child Protection Center, the Social Welfare Complex project, as well as the establishment of a specialized prosecution for families and children, to provide the best social, psychological and health care and protection services in a way that contributes to improving the level of social service.
