His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to provide the best services and means of care for senior citizens to ensure a decent life for them, pointing out that the Ministry of Social Development pays special attention to the elderly group, and works to enhance their quality of life through the various services and projects it provides to this group, in implementation of the provisions of the National Strategy for the Elderly. This came during his inspection visit to the Muharraq Social Care Center, accompanied by a number of ministry officials and those in charge of the center, as the center also includes employees of the National Bank of Bahrain Center for the Elderly. During the visit, the minister praised the rehabilitation programs and services provided by qualified Bahraini cadres in accordance with the health and social care approach, stressing in this context the importance of ensuring the sustainability and development of all services to provide adequate care for senior citizens, as well as instilling a culture of social responsibility to enhance development services provided to various segments of society, pointing to the extent of its positive impact in supporting national efforts by embodying the values of volunteer work to support humanitarian and social projects and initiatives.
