Minister Al-Asfour reviews the progress of work at the National Bank of Bahrain's home for the rehabilitation of disabled children

His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, visited the National Bank of Bahrain Rehabilitation Home for Handicapped Children in Isa Town, where he inspected the conditions of inmates and beneficiaries of the care and rehabilitation services provided in this home of the Ministry. During the tour, the minister briefed on the progress of work in the house, which includes the shelter department and provides care services for (22) cases of permanent residence, as well as the qualifying department in the house and the Children's Center for Day Welfare, which is the number of beneficiaries in its qualifying ranks (36) students with determination from the age Severe and medium intellectual disability and cerebral palsy, and dual people with disabilities. The minister also listened to an explanation by the officials of the home about the types of services and care provided to the beneficiaries, with the aim of qualifying them and providing them with the necessary skills for self-reliance in their life affairs, in addition to providing aspects of care and rehabilitative, health, psychological and social services provided to this group. At the end of the visit, the Minister of Social Development praised the efforts made by the national forces in the home to contribute towards the development of society, stressing in this context the Ministry's keenness to provide the best services for people of determination, within the framework of implementing the general principles of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which stipulate the right to participate in cultural life and leisure, entertainment and sports activities, and in implementation of the Ministry's strategic objectives aimed at developing social and rehabilitation integration services.
