Social development minister meets Moscow Patriarchate’s Chairman of external church relations

Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, received Metropolitan Anthony Sevryuk of Volokolamsk, the Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, and his accompanying delegation during their official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The minister emphasised Bahrain's commitment to promoting the values of peaceful coexistence, reflecting the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He highlighted Bahrain’s efforts to develop these humanitarian principles both locally and internationally. Al Alawi briefed Metropolitan Anthony and the delegation on the initiatives of HM the King, supported by the government under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted the positive impact of these efforts in promoting religious and cultural diversity, and rejecting extremism. He also commended the strong ties between Bahrain and Russia, highlighting bilateral cooperation and means to enhance their mutual ties to serve common interests, fostering understanding among diverse communities. On their part, Metropolitan Anthony and the delegation expressed their appreciation for Bahrain’s efforts in promoting mutual understanding and dialogue. They highlighted the importance of continued coordination and cooperation on shared concerns to advance peaceful coexistence among religions and cultures, contributing to global humanitarian causes. They extended their best wishes for Bahrain’s continued progress and prosperity.
