The Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce organized various activities on the occasion of Bahrain’s Sports Day, with the presence of H.E Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, and H.E Mr. Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, and with the participation of a number of Welfare centers, social rehabilitation centers, and ngos. And invitees, at King Faisal Corniche in Manama. In a formal statement on this occasion, H.E. Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, confirmed that the Sports Day of the Kingdom of Bahrain reflects the extent of the care and interest of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in the sports sector, which is witnessing qualitative progress and has achieved Many international achievements, praising in this context the government’s keenness, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to strengthen the sporting process, within the framework of embodying the concept of the culture of practicing sports, and urging society to adopt it as a healthy life style. Al-Asfoor praised the pioneering achievements made by the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, headed by His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, as well as the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman. The General Sports Authority, Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, which represents an approach for all concerned sectors towards excellence to achieve the goals of this Sports Day, pointing out that enhancing the culture of sports performance is a civilized trend that reflects the development and progress of societies. In turn, His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, emphasized the sporting and youth achievements achieved by the Kingdom of Bahrain under the prosperous reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and under the supervision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as a result of the full support and attention the Kingdom gives to the sports sector and athletes, which has led to the progress that the Kingdom has achieved in this sector, and to highlighting its position on the global sports map. The Minister of Industry and Commerce drew attention to the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charitable Works and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, in providing Supporting young people and constantly encouraging them to participate in sports and youth clubs and centres, and refining their skills and abilities, which has enhanced the level of Bahraini athletes and their successes achieved in various forums. The Minister of Industry and commerce noted the importance of devoting a Sports Day to the Kingdom of Bahrain, which aims to enhance community awareness of the positive effects of practicing sports and following a healthy lifestyle, and its impact on the health and safety of society.
