The Minister of Social Development chairs the fourth meeting of the National Committee for the Elderly

His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development and Chairman of the National Committee for the Elderly, chaired the fourth meeting of the committee, whose membership includes representatives of the relevant official and civil authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the meeting, the agenda topics were reviewed, and the committee’s readiness to celebrate the International Day of Older Persons was discussed, in addition to discussing ways to enhance efforts to improve the situation of the elderly in the Kingdom, including launching more projects and initiatives in the field of serving, caring and protecting this group, and benefiting from their accumulated experience. In an effort to continue their contributions to development and construction. For his part, the Minister of Social Development, Chairman of the National Committee for the Elderly, stressed the importance of continuing achievements in support of the needs of the elderly, to enhance their quality of life, pointing out that the committee has taken steps to improve the services provided to this group, through programs and projects directed to their care, stressing the pursuit of more achievements. In a sustainable manner, through cooperation with the relevant authorities to develop the services provided to the elderly and invest in their expertise for the benefit of society, as well as finding means that achieve integration for this group more broadly, and providing opportunities for them to participate effectively in society. The National Committee for the Elderly seeks to implement the general policy of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain in caring for the elderly and work to develop it, identify the various needs in light of Islamic values and meanings and humanitarian principles, prepare and implement projects and programs that support raising the quality of life of the elderly and follow up on their implementation with the relevant authorities, in addition to participating in Enacting legislation and laws for the elderly that achieve their financial, psychological and social security, in addition to adopting the recommendations and decisions issued by relevant Arab and international conferences.
