The Acting Director of the Social Rehabilitation Department at the Ministry of Social Development, Mr. Sadiq Sahwan, confirmed the readiness of (45) members of the administrative and educational staff in academic and vocational rehabilitation homes and centers to receive (182) male and female students with disabilities during the new academic year 2023-2024, in The Academic and Vocational Rehabilitation Centre, the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait Rehabilitation Centre, the Sheikhan Al Farsi Center for Comprehensive Speech, the Child Day Care Centre, the National Bank of Bahrain Rehabilitation House, in addition to the Al Matrook Center for Guidance Rehabilitation. He explained that the Academic and Vocational Rehabilitation Center will provide many rehabilitative, educational and vocational services to groups of children and youth with mental disabilities through the Academic and Vocational Rehabilitation Units, pointing out that the Academic Rehabilitation Unit aims to provide and acquire various academic skills for people with mild mental disabilities who are unable to Integration into the classes of the Ministry of Education, in order to qualify them academically to enable them to join a job or practice work appropriate to achieving economic independence. As for the Vocational Rehabilitation Unit, it specializes in implementing vocational rehabilitation programs in workshops with the aim of achieving economic efficiency for them by working, engaging in a profession and continuing in it, in preparation for enrolling them in the market. the job. He also explained that the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait Rehabilitation Center is concerned with preparing young people with mild mental disabilities who are unable to work under normal circumstances, by providing them with training in protected workshops on handicrafts, while the Sheikhan Al-Farsi Center for Comprehensive Speech provides all rehabilitative and educational services for people with hearing disabilities. The center includes two sections, for the rehabilitation of people with cochlear implants and hearing (signal) impairment.
