Cybersecurity organizes a lecture on data protection in non-profit organizations

Ministry of Interior The National Center for Cybersecurity, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development, organized an awareness lecture entitled "Cybersecurity and Data Protection in Non-Profit Organizations" in the presence of Ms. Enas Muhammad Al-Majid, Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development and Ms. Amina Al-Jassem, Acting Director of the Civil Organizations Department, where the lecture targeted a number of institutions and organizations eligibility in the Kingdom. The organization of this lecture comes within the framework of the efforts of the National Center for Cybersecurity to spread the culture of cybersecurity and educate government and private agencies, institutions and vital sectors of the best cyber practices, to create a safe digital environment according to international standards and the correct technical pillars, which help institutions to raise the level of their performance and enhance their societal role. The lecture included a review of the global landscape of cybersecurity threats to non-profit organizations, the most prominent of which are phishing and fraud methods, targeting institutions, and the series of stages of cyberattacks, and emphasizing the importance of the correct technical establishment of the organization by following international standards such as (NIST) and using what is published locally by National Center for Cyber Security. The lecture also dealt with the importance of the employee's role in maintaining cyber security, ways to create a safe digital environment in the organization and applying best cyber practices, in addition to presenting some interactive activities that would enhance the importance of the employees' role in the work environment.
