The Minister of Social Development heads the National Committee for the Elderly

His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, presided over the meeting of the National Committee for the Elderly, in the presence of its members, to discuss ways to improve the areas of cooperation between the relevant sectors, to achieve the goals of the committee aimed at serving the elderly in a manner befitting their giving and their solid role in building and renaissance of the Kingdom of Bahrain. On this occasion, Minister Al-Asfoor stressed the importance of supporting projects to raise the quality of life of the elderly, based on the firm approach that the Kingdom of Bahrain follows in observing its commitment to all aspects of human rights from all groups of society, including the elderly. During the meeting, a number of projects and programs concerned with the elderly category were reviewed, and their implementation was followed up with the relevant authorities, as well as legislation and laws for the elderly that guarantee them a decent life in a way that achieves psychological and social security for them, by strengthening ways of cooperation with the authorities concerned with caring for this category in a way that contributes to improving the services provided to them and contributing to their strengthening.
