The Minister of Social Development heads the National Committee for Childhood in its new formation

His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, affirmed the government's keenness to advance and improve aspects of comprehensive care provided to children, stressing the Ministry's keenness to move forward to achieve more national gains and achievements, to ensure children's rights, and to create an appropriate and safe environment for them, appreciating in this context the decision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to form the National Committee for Childhood and the membership of an elite group of socially responsible bodies. This came during His Excellency chairing the first meeting of the National Committee for Childhood, in its new formation, where he stressed the importance of concerted national efforts to enrich the work and tasks of the committee in a way that contributes to achieving the development goals for which it was established. The meeting also reviewed the priorities and terms of reference of the committee members, as well as developments in the Correctional Justice Law for Children and their protection from abuse, in addition to a number of topics on the agenda.
