On the occasion of International Women's Day.. Ministry of Social Development: Bahraini women's leadership as a model in regional and international forums

The Kingdom of Bahrain joins the countries of the world in celebrating International Women's Day, which falls on the eighth of March every year, to highlight the progress made by Bahraini women in various political, economic and social fields, within the framework of their pioneering contributions to the promotion of sustainable development. On this occasion, His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, affirmed that International Women's Day is an appropriate opportunity to confirm the commitment of the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its belief in the active role of women in building and renaissance of society, and reflects appreciation for their various developmental contributions, and push them towards continuing to achieve the highest gains for themselves and their society, in light of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Kingdom of Bahrain, and the follow-up of the government, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister The Council of Ministers, that granted Bahraini women their rights in various economic, political and social fields, and contributed to the consolidation of the principles of equal opportunity, the advancement of women and the safeguarding of all their rights, in addition to that it demonstrated its capabilities in community and international participation. Minister Al-Asfoor also valued the initiatives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King, President of the Supreme Council for Women, may God protect her, which resulted in drawing up a unified map of action for the efforts of Bahraini women's advancement and advancing their leadership path in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which provided women with many opportunities and opened broader horizons to participate with men in the process of giving, building and national development, and attaining the highest levels locally, regionally and internationally. The experience of women's progress in the Kingdom of Bahrain is a role model in various regional and international forums, especially as it is in line with the wise vision of wise leadership emanating from a pioneering thought and approach, and in accordance with international best practices, to anticipate the future of Bahraini women in a way that ensures the sustainability of achievements and active participation in various fields. He said that the Ministry of Social Development was keen to provide all aspects of support and assistance to Bahraini women, out of pride in their active role and donations that enhance social and developmental services. Women's associations, and all activities aimed at enhancing the role of women, as well as enhancing women's participation in the economic field, through many development programs and projects.
