The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development meets the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations on Violence in Conflict

Mrs. Sahar Rashid Al-Mannai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, received the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict, Ms. Parmilla Batten. During the meeting, they reviewed the most prominent programs and services provided by the Ministry of Social Development in the field of protection and social care, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common interest in the development and social field, stressing in this context the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to support women through their social and economic advancement through various development programmes, referring to government efforts to enhance opportunities for equality and eliminate all forms of discrimination against women. For her part, Mrs. Parmila Patten praised the advanced level of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of promoting women's rights and empowerment, and the great efforts made by the government, which contributed to making it a partner in the comprehensive development process.
