His Excellency the Minister of Social Development attended the first Munira bin Hindi forum for people with disabilities, entitled "Associations of People with Disabilities, Achievements and Challenges", which was held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Honorary President of the Bahraini Center for International Mobility, in the presence of His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council, Mr. In his speech at the beginning of the forum, the Minister of Social Development expressed his thanks and appreciation to Her Highness Sheikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, for her patronage of this forum, which recalls with great appreciation and gratitude the late, dear Munira bin Hindi, may God rest her soul. His Excellency also confirmed that the deceased was one of the influential Bahraini personalities in the Bahraini society, with her giving, optimism and perseverance in challenging disability, and she was an example to follow, and a rich and motivating model for many people with disabilities and others, recalling in this context the virtues of the late, God willing, and her wonderful gifts in her journey with life, which extended for nearly six decades, especially that she occupied several positions in governmental and voluntary work, and the high morals she possessed. She made her appreciated and praised by the entire community, starting with her work as responsible for the Rehabilitation Services Unit at the Ministry of Social Development, through her contribution to the establishment of the International Movement Association, and her standing with people with disabilities, to enact laws to protect them and defend their rights, and then her support for the cause of women in all locations, when she became in 2006 the first woman member of the Shura Council with disabilities.
