His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfour, Minister of Social Development, headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain participating in the work of the 43rd session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, which was held in the Arab Republic of Egypt, in the presence of Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the League of Nations. During his speech, the Minister stressed the importance of increasing joint cooperation and exchanging experiences, in order to achieve social justice in the Arab countries, pointing to the Kingdom’s priorities at the present time to prepare for the social file that complements the economic and social file submitted to the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level in its (33rd) regular session in the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the year 2024 AD, which confirms the Kingdom’s keenness to follow up on the implementation of social plans and programs in support of international efforts to protect the rights of people with disabilities and issues related to childhood, family and elderly affairs, in addition to supporting the initiatives of the esteemed Council to reach the aspirations of member states for sustainable social security and development. He said that the Kingdom of Bahrain seeks, through its Economic Vision 2030, to reach an integrated model of social services for the care, development, rehabilitation and protection of eligible people from all segments of Bahraini society, from childhood to old age, especially the most needy groups of people with disabilities, the elderly, children and low-income people, through the implementation of initiatives. Which are consistent with the priorities and axes of the government program (2023-2026), and follow up on its results with high transparency in order to reach the goals with the participation of all components of society from the governmental and private sectors and civil society institutions.
