His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, affirmed that the Cabinet's decision to approve the memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Community Services regarding the operation of social centers in the evening shift reflects keenness and interest in supporting various government institutions that provide pioneering development efforts and support to achieve the goals of sustainable development in its comprehensive concept, especially since the Ministry's social centers seek to achieve the strategic goal through social and economic empowerment and the strengthening of community cohesion among the various segments of Bahraini society. Commenting on what was circulated regarding the response of the Ministry of Social Development to one of the questions received from the House of Representatives regarding the definition of the minimum basic life requirements for individuals and families in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Ministry of Social Development clarified that what is being circulated about one of the studies mentioned in the response is out of context, misleading, far from the truth, and inaccurate. The ministry indicated that the response to the circulating parliamentary question only touched on a specific type of support provided to eligible citizens, as the parliamentary question subject to an answer inquired about a specific type of support, which is related to social assistance and not the program package related to social support for eligible citizens. The Ministry affirmed that the Social Security Law guaranteed entitlement to social assistance through an integrated package of social support programs for eligible citizens, which is represented in cash benefits that are decided to be granted to any family or individual in accordance with the provisions of the law for all groups that do not have an adequate source of income on which they depend for their livelihood in order to help them secure the minimum requirements of basic life, and it includes 11 categories as follows: the family, the widow, the divorced, the abandoned, the elderly, the family of the inmate in reform and rehabilitation centers, the incapable of working, and individuals with special needs. the private, the unmarried girl, the boy and the orphan). The number of beneficiaries of social support programs reached 130 thousand 653 Bahraini families, according to statistics for the month of February during the current year. The Ministry noted that the Social Security Law guarantees entitlement to social assistance, which is represented in the cash benefits that are decided to be granted to any family or individual in accordance with the provisions of the law for all groups that do not have an adequate source of income on which they depend for their livelihood, in order to help them secure the minimum basic life requirements. Three eligibility categories fall under the financial support program for low-income people, which are those whose incomes range between zero and 300, those whose incomes range between 301 and 700, and those whose incomes range between 701 and 1000 BD. She added that the groups eligible for social assistance benefit from a package of allowances and direct support programs, which are: - Social assistance: a monthly amount of 77 dinars per person, 132 dinars for two individuals, 28 dinars for each family member whose number exceeds that. Financial support for low-income people (expensive allowance): An additional amount that is automatically disbursed to each individual and family beneficiary of social security, with the aim of helping them cope with any increase in living requirements. The support is paid in three categories (110, 77, and 55) dinars per month, according to the total income of the head of the family. His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, affirmed the pivotal role of Bahraini women's contributions towards the renaissance of society, praising the great interest and support that women receive in light of the comprehensive development march led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Kingdom of Bahrain, and the continuous follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which constituted a basic pillar for all development and renaissance projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain at all levels. At the same time, the Minister of Social Development appreciated the contributions of the Supreme Council for Women, headed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of the country's King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, may God protect her, and the efforts of the National Council to enhance the status of women and preserve their rights, which won the session devoted to discussing the fourth national report of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women "CEDAW", success and distinction, during his attendance of the video meeting with the United Nations "CEDAW" Committee. The Minister of Social Development appreciated the distinguished visual presentation of the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain, headed by Ms. Hala Mohammed Jaber Al-Ansari, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, before the CEDAW Committee, especially the issues related to the competencies of the Ministry of Social Development to consolidate various aspects of community security, in a way that supports development and prosperity efforts, and the sustainability of measures and services of the social protection system, and the law of correctional justice for children and their protection from abuse, as well as the regulatory decisions to engage in self-employment, which was reflected in facts and indicators of women's achievements at various economic and social levels. The Ministry of Social Development announced the end of the nomination stage for the award of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa to encourage productive families for the current year in its 16th edition at the local level, which lasted for nearly six weeks, after receiving many participants wishing to compete for the honor of the three categories of the award as the best productive family, the best producer, and the best sponsor and supporter of productive families. In this regard, the Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development at the Ministry of Social Development, Ms. Enas Mohammed Al-Majed, said that the progression stage for the competition for the award of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa to encourage productive families witnessed a great turnout from various individuals and productive families registered in the Step Project for Home Projects, noting that the increase in participation in the award this year confirms its importance in highlighting and supporting Bahraini productive families, as well as the desire of the participants to showcase their qualitative and pioneering products that characterize these families, and the extent of development This happened to its products, through its keenness to join the centers of excellence and innovation in the Capital Complex for Bahraini Hand Products affiliated to the Ministry. She explained that the Capital Complex for Bahraini Hand Products received large numbers of participants in the award by individuals and productive families, which included various hand products, in addition to food products, where a small committee was allocated to receive, sort and classify the participation forms according to the three categories of the award, which fall under the category of the best productive family, the best product and the best supporter. Al-Majed indicated that the majority of applications were accepted, while a limited number of applications were excluded for technical reasons or that did not comply with the previously announced award criteria, which guarantees strong competition among Bahraini productive families, stressing the keenness of the Ministry of Social Development to continue the award, which contributes to the refinement and brilliance of the Bahraini product in a remarkable way, noting that all Bahraini productive families are considered winners even before announcing the results, given that they will go through the experience of candidacy with professionally manufactured products to keep pace with the level of the award in its moral and material content. And she indicated that the arbitration committee has started its meetings to evaluate the entries, and choose the best according to accurate technical and monetary criteria, in preparation for the stage of announcing the winners during the award ceremony that is expected to be held under the auspices of Her Royal Highness, the wife of His Majesty the King, President of the Supreme Council for Women, may God protect her, on the first of next March, noting that the arbitration committee includes experts from the Ministry and outside it, including technicians, academics and social workers, so that it takes into account that the product is designed and produced by the productive family, and that it is characterized by creativity, development and quality, and with regard to better selection criteria. Mrs. Sahar Rashid Al-Mannai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, affirmed the Ministry's keenness to integrate students with determination in centers that provide rehabilitation, academic and vocational services in a way that contributes to their involvement in community activities, and enables them to carry out the tasks and roles that their peers from the community carry out, in a way that achieves their actual integration in the social process, noting that the care centers affiliated with the Ministry provide various services to all groups that they visit, especially since the employees are doing their best to provide various aspects of rehabilitation services. This came during a reception for Al-Matrouk Center for Counseling Rehabilitation, the children registered in the center, as it provides day care services through academic rehabilitation, psychological and social assessment, counseling rehabilitation, and physiotherapy, for children from the age group of 3 years to 18 years, since its opening in 2008.
