National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) Home for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Children
The home was established in 1970, and it is the first governmental institution that cares for persons with moderate and severe mental disabilities and persons with cerebral palsy. As a contribution from the National Bank of Bahrain and in confirmation of its national role in supporting social services, as it built a new building for the home. This generous initiative comes as an expression of the private sector’s commitment and support for development through community partnership.
Service Type:
The National Bank home for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Children provides rehabilitation and care services for children with disabilities of various categories by providing rehabilitative, health, psychological and social services to enable them to acquire the necessary skills for self-reliance in their life affairs and to integrate them into society through the day care service in classrooms, for the age group. From (6 – 18 years old); It also provides physical therapy services to those in need with disabilities from the age of (1 year to 18 years of age).
The objectives of the Home:
- Rehabilitation of children with disabilities and providing them with the necessary skills for self-reliance in their life affairs.
- Providing physiotherapy service to those who need it from the members of the home and the external cases registered with the Ministry of Social Development.
- Integration of children with disabilities into society to become useful members of in it.
- Providing aspects of rehabilitation, health, psychological and social care and services for children with disabilities.

- Rehabilitation services.

- Physical therapy services for students and external cases.
- Recreational, cultural and sports services.
- Support services such as transportation for day care students.
Registration Requirements:
- Submit an application at the social center.
- Submit a recent medical report indicating the type of disability approved by a consultant doctor in government hospitals.
- Submitting a medical report explaining the child’s need for physical therapy service (only for physical therapy applicants).
- Attach the vaccination certificate.
- Attend the National Bank of Bahrain Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children to conduct the appropriate assessments.
Admission requirements:
- Applicant must be of Bahraini nationality or have a Bahraini mother.
- The child’s age must be from 6 to 18 years for day care service, and from birth to 18 years for external physical therapy service.
- The medical report must prove that he/she suffers from a moderate, moderate or severe intellectual disability or multiple disabilities and is free of behavioral disorders.
- The child must be free of infectious diseases or psychological disorders.
- Applicant should not be a clinical case.
