The social development center is the main facility established by the Ministry of Social Development to provide its services and implement its policies in the areas of welfare and social development in local communities. It is the mini-facility representing the Ministry and includes the most important branches of its departments and divisions that are directly related to broad segments of the beneficiary groups or who are targeted to benefit from the services and activities of the social center.

Objectives of the Social Development Centers:

The Social Development Centers seek to achieve the strategic objective of the Ministry of Social Development "social empowerment and strengthening social cohesion among the various segments of Bahraini society" by achieving the following objectives:

1. Enhancing the spirit of social cohesion and cohesion in the Kingdom of Bahrain through its development programs and projects to achieve social security.
2. Spreading cultural and awareness-raising awareness through intensifying courses, workshops, awareness campaigns and targeted family programs.
3. Economic and social empowerment of individuals and families with limited income.
4. Strengthening the principle of community partnership with the three sectors of society, governmental, civil and private, in order to enhance the principle of social responsibility to achieve community development goals.

By Achiving the following:

• Implementation of awareness programs, indicative and educational lectures, and follow-up of the implementation of the various courses for the beneficiaries of the services of the social development centers, which are provided by the various departments of the Ministry.
• Providing the main hall in each social center to conduct social activities in cooperation with local community institutions and NGOs in implementation of the principle of community partnership.
• Follow up the implementation of the programs and activities of the Family Development Department.
• Follow up the implementation of children and youth programs and activities.
• Organizing family entertainment and awareness festivals.
• Training of students of community service course and universities.
• Execution and operation of the decisions of the sentences of those sentenced by the judge of execution of punishment in social development centers.
