to consolidate the efforts of the youth NGOs and coordinate their activities in order to achieve common goals that  come in harmony with the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, Resolution No. (31) of 2008 was issued to establish the Youth NGOs Complex. This is aimed to enable these organizations from undertaking their role, achieving their goals and delivering their mission to realize social and economic welfare in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This is due to the fact that the youth represent a social segment that enjoys vitality and vigour as well as an indispensable power that can be employed in all development phases.

 

Overview of the Youth NGOs Complex:

  • The Complex comprises two multiple-story buildings.
  • The Complex contains 12 apartments.
  • The Complex contains one multi-purpose meeting hall.
  • The Complex contains a cafeteria to serve the visitors from Youth NGOs members and their guests.
  • Apartments in Building No. (1) consists of two rooms, one hall and two bathrooms in addition to the kitchen.
  • Apartments in Building No. (2) consists of three rooms, one hall and three bathrooms in addition to the kitchen.

Objectives:

  1. Achieve work stability of Youth NGOs in fixed work sites.
  2. Enable Youth NGOs to perform their role and achieve their objectives easily.
  3. Conform to the Economic Vision 2030 concerning youth and implement it in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  4. Coordinate and activate all common national activities among Youth NGOs.
  5. Enable youth to easily interact and communicate with Youth NGOs.

Beneficiary Organizations:

 

NGOs Department registered the names of Youth NGOs benefiting from the Youth NGOs Complex until April 2009, totalling 11 youth organizations. The registration is still open for the other youth NGOs.

Complex Management and Joint Facilities:

 

NGOs Department in the Ministry of Labour & Social Development set the necessary regulations for the operation of the Complex and its facilities and organization of work therein. The Complex is to be managed by a Board of Directors to be appointed by the Ministry of Labour & Social Development to ensure the achievement of its goals in line with the sustainable development strategy of the Kingdom of Bahrain. This is in addition to forming working committees to guarantee the adoption of a coordination mechanism among them with the aim of carrying out the national activities and common objectives.

 

Mechanism of handing over premises to the Youth NGOs:

  1. Submission of a formal application to the NGOs Department in the Ministry of Social Development expressing the desire to benefit from the Youth NGOs Complex’s services.
  2. A period of 12 months should have passed since the NGO’s registration and it has to be active player and registered in the Ministry’s records under the name of a youth NGO.
  3. A visit should be made to the building and the proposed office for the youth NGO.
  4. A usufruct contract should be concluded between the Ministry and the youth NGO.
  5. Moving to the new office.

Obligations of the Ministry of Labour & Social Development:

  • Provide cleaning and maintenance services for the Complex facilities and perform regular necessary maintenance works.
  • Provide security services for the building.

Obligations of the Beneficiary Youth NGOs:

  1. Abide by the instructions and regulations issued by the NGOs Department and the Complex’s Board of Directors.
  2. Undertake the responsibility of cleaning the apartments from inside and pay the water and electricity bills and municipal fees.
  3. Not to install sound amplifiers or any other devices that may cause nuisance and disturbance to others.
  4. Not to smoke in the premises and the Complex.
